Lauren's 2nd Birthday Party!

We had the family over to celebrate Lauren's 2nd Birthday on Sunday, November 16th 2008. It was so wonderful that everyone could make the party! Grandma & Grandpa Morgan and Godmother & Auntie Tara were present, along with Grandma & Grandpa Westerhaus, Great Grandma & Grandpa Westerhaus, Aunt Kathleen, Uncle Jeff, Godfather & Uncle Brian, Aunt Liz, Cousins Jack, Grace, and Charles, Great Aunt Jeannine, and Great Great Aunt Clara. We began the festivities at 4:00, had dinner (lasagna, salad, bread) shortly after 5:00, and then cake & ice cream before we opened presents! Mama ordered the cake from Queen of Cakes, and although she was slightly disappointed at the end product (presentation-wise), it still tasted wonderful! Thank you to our families for coming out to celebrate this joyful day with us!

A nice day...

It was a nice Sunday today; very low-key for a change! We had brunch, did some light grocery shopping, and just hung out at home. It was wonderful. I made homemade chili this evening for dinner which is always a winner with Kevin and Lauren! We also indulged and had brownies and ice cream for dessert. I am battling a cold, so I was thankful to be indoors for most of the day. Tonight has been a bit of a challenge as Lauren JUST went to sleep (it's 10:15!)...she is such a great sleeper normally so I am hoping this is a fluke. Usually when she has problems like this it means she is going to get sick. I am praying she has not caught my cold! I'll be going to sleep tonight hoping she will be just fine come morning.

Lauren is 2 years old! Kevin and I can hardly believe it! This is Lauren on her birthday, Friday November 14th. I found this shirt for her at Gap for $1.97 (before the 30% discount I also received)! We had a wonderful day relaxing, playing, and Lauren helped Mama bake 3 lasagnas for her birthday party the following Sunday! Mama also made a birthday cake for Lauren while she was napping...zzz...
